San Jose

California is still, of course, the top relocation spot in the country, and with very good reason. San Jose has an excellent climate and offers many, many things to do. WIthin hours from us is skiing and camping at Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. There is also a lot of good fishing in its many streams and lakes, and also some great spots to ocean fish from, like Half Moon Bay/Monterey and San Francisco. It offers many great Lakes to boat in like Lake Tahoe and Clear Lake. San Jose/Silicon Valley has many museums in very close proximity. San Jose hosts The Tech Museum, the History of San Jose Museum, the Rosicrucian Museum, the Childrens Discovery Museum, as well as the San Jose Museum of Art. Santa Clara hosts the Intel Museum and the De Saisset Museum. Palo Alto is host to the Museum of American Heritage, the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo, as well as the Hoover Institute. Mountain View hosts the Computer Museum. The Bay Area is also home to 2 Football teams (Oakland Raiders and SF 49ers), 2 Baseball teams(SF Giants and Oakland As) and a world class hockey team in the San Jose Sharks. It also has a professional soccer team, known as the San Jose Earthquakes. San Jose has its own international airport, Minetta San Jose Internaional Airport San Jose, California is known as the "Capital of Silicon Valley" and spans 174 square miles. The City of San Jose wants your business, its new motto is Choose San Jose. It’s current population 1,000,684,600 (according to the 2010 census) is the 10th largest of cities in California. Founded in 1777, and incorporated in 1850,it is the nations first capital as well as the heart of Silicon Valley. The City of San Jose has the nation's 4th best public safety record of any metropolitan area(according to Forbes 10/2010), a range of ethnic diversities and a temperate Mediterranean type climate. San Jose is around 50 miles south of San Francisco, while Oakland is about 35 miles to the northeast. The scenic Monterey/Carmel area is 70 miles to the south. With at least 300 sunny days per year, San Jose averages 70s in the summer and 50s in the winter and has about an average rainfall of 15 inches a year. Silicon valley employs more than about quarter million people working at over 6600 companies. It is the center of the hi-tech world, and if you want to be involved choose San Jose as your home! All in all, the Silicon valley Market is one of the strongest real estate markets in the United States. The real estate market has been tumultous recently but should settle down going forward. Prices topped out around 2007 but have plunged until recently. Prices have slowly been rising in the bay area in many areas this year since March 2010, but some areas are still a little depressed. At somepoint the market will return to making nice gains. Historically though we have had shakeouts like this every decade or two. This is nothing new. Many of us either lived through these or were to young to remember. History can and will repeat itself though, as it always does.

San Jose school children attend public elementary, middle, and high schools in eleven school districts, including: Alum Rock, Berryessa, Cambrian, Campbell, Cupertino Union, East Side, Evergreen, Franklin-McKinley, Fremont Union, Moreland, Oak Grove, San Jose, and Union. These districts operate a total of 287 elementary schools and 51 high schools in Santa Clara County and educate over 240,000 children. Several colleges and universities including San Jose State, San Jose City College, Evergreen Valley, and DeAnza are easily accessible to San Jose residents. Silicon Valley adds into the mix Santa Clara University, Stanford Universtiy and Foothill to name a few.
